Situated right on the banks of the Shire River in Liwonde National Park (Malawi), Mvuu Camp offers a relaxed safari-camp atmosphere. The property consists of 14 chalets (stone-and-canvas units and family-designed options).
Each chalet features an en-suite bathroom and a private veranda with river or bush views.
Location
Located inside Liwonde National Park, the camp’s setting is ideal for wildlife viewing along the riverine corridor: hippos, elephants, and a rich array of birdlife frequent the area.
The name “Mvuu” means “hippo” in the local language, after the many hippos found in the Shire River.
Rooms
Mvuu Camp has 14 chalets — a mix of stone-and-canvas units, including family chalets.
Each chalet has an en-suite bathroom with shower, comfortable beds, and a private veranda with river or bush views. The design reflects a simple yet classic safari style, blending naturally into the surroundings.
Activities
Activities include boat safaris, game drives, and guided bush walks, all led by experienced guides.

Children policy:

Children under 12 years pay 50% of the adult rate when sharing with adults — including in the family chalets.

Children aged 12 years and above pay the full adult rate.

A third bed can be added for a child if a family is traveling with three children.
